There are three primary variables to identify when choosing a fin: power, efficiency and kick style. SCUBAPRO has championed the principle of hydrodynamic efficiency ever since the creation of the original vented Jet Fin. The more water the fin moves, the greater it's kicking power. Fins that transfer a greater percentage of the diver's kicking effort into forward motion are said to be more efficient. The shape, power and efficiency of a given fin will in turn dictate the kicking style that should be used to obtain maximum benefit from that design.
